What to expect from cold storage structural steel
Clearances around insulation
Frames and supports are sized with insulated panels, vapour barriers, and thermal breaks in mind. A bracket that fits bare steel can still crush or bridge a finished cold-room wall.
Protected from washdown
Condensation, forklift splash, and cleaning water collect at base plates and wall penetrations. Galvanized or coated steel is used where raw steel would rust behind the panels.
Loads kept off panels
Pipe racks, evaporator supports, guards, and mezzanine pieces need their load carried into structure, not just into insulated wall panels. We separate true support steel from light cladding attachment.
