Stainless, galvanized steel, or protected finishes are selected around hot water and cleaning chemicals. Raw steel will not survive repeated washdown.

Sanitation carts, bins, and hoses cross these grates regularly. Bar spacing is chosen so wheels and tools do not drop into the openings.
Panels lift for sanitation
Washdown grates must be removable for cleaning below. Split sections and smooth lift points make that work practical.
